FAQ
1.Are fluorescent lights AC or DC?
A low-pressure mercury discharge tube is a fluorescent tube. Low efficiency is used by these tubes to create greenish light. Both AC and DC may be used to power a fluorescent bulb.
2.Can a DC supply be used with fluorescent lights?
Direct current (DC) supplies with enough voltage to cause an arc may be used to power fluorescent bulbs directly. The bulb would need roughly the same amount of power as the ballast, which must be resistive.
3.How is a fluorescent light connected to a DC operation?
The ballast, which must be resistive, would need about the same amount of power as the tube. As indicated in the accompanying image, a resistance is attached in addition to the typical choke in order to make the fluorescent bulb operate on a DC supply.
